Join UM50 report: the Ferro Mosae SwimRun

On 20 May 2026, the annual Ferro Mosae SwimRun was dedicated entirely to UM50. Around the Geusseltbad, students, staff members, secondary school pupils and residents of Maastricht came together for a sporty anniversary event centered on connection and fun. With different distances and categories, the SwimRun was accessible to everyone, from first-time participants to experienced athletes. Watch the video for a short recap!

The Ferro Mosae SwimRun is one of the projects that received financial support through the open call JoinUM50. Through JoinUM50, Maastricht University is supporting initiatives that strengthen the connection between science and society, to celebrate 50 years of UM together with the city and the region.
