Join UM50
Together we celebrate 50 years of UM!
In 2026, Maastricht University celebrates its 50th anniversary. We are not doing this alone, but together with the city and the region.
That is why, this year, we have made funding available for initiatives that contribute to a stronger connection between the university and society. In addition, we are opening our anniversary agenda to events in Maastricht and the surrounding region that align with this idea.
The selected projects
Following a careful assessment based on pre-defined criteria, the UM50 Programme Committee has selected the following 15 projects:

- Reading the Hospital Together
- Plastic Recycling Heroes
- Doorspace x Circular Engineering
- Beer inspired by the archaeobotanical
Your event in the UM50 agenda
The possibility to apply for funding has closed, but the UM50 agenda is still open for (existing) events that connect the university and society. Are you organising an event in 2026 that fits well with the theme of UM50? Then we would be happy to promote it through the agenda.
