UM50 History Clinic
Programme
What do you remember about UM? You do not need to have studied or worked at the university to have a story to share. Perhaps you watched UM grow within the city, saw a familiar building take on a new purpose or encountered students or employees through your neighbourhood, association or work. Maybe you attended an event, contributed to a project or have a photograph, object or anecdote that says something about the relationship between the university and Maastricht.
To mark Maastricht University’s 50th anniversary, the UM50 History Clinic invites everyone to share their personal memories: Maastricht residents, students, alumni, current and former employees, and anyone else with a connection to UM. We are particularly interested in stories that cannot be found in official archives or historical accounts. You do not need to be a historian, and your story does not have to be famous or extraordinary. An everyday memory can reveal something meaningful about the university’s influence on people, places and the city.
You are welcome to bring a photograph, document or object if it is important to your story, but this is not required. Join us and help make the history of UM more personal, richer and more inclusive.
