City Tour: 50 Years of Maastricht University (cancelled)
Programme
Unfortunately, this guided tour has been cancelled due to the Code Orange weather warning.
What would Maastricht look like without its university? On this special walking tour through the city centre, you'll discover how Maastricht University has been part of the city's story for 50 years.
Since its founding in 1976, former monasteries, barracks, courthouses and other listed buildings have been given a new lease of life as faculties, libraries and meeting places. On this free city tour, an Official Maastricht Guide will take you past some of the university's most distinctive locations, revealing how historical heritage and academic life reinforce one another in Maastricht. You'll hear the stories behind the buildings: from monastic life and military history to law, student life and innovative education. A fresh way to discover both Maastricht and its university.
A walk through past, present and future, right in the heart of Maastricht. Perfect for anyone who wants to get to know the city better, whether you're a local or a first-time visitor.
