City Tour: 50 Years of Maastricht University
Programme
What would Maastricht be without its university? During this special city center walk, you'll discover how Maastricht University has been part of the city's story for 50 years.
Since its founding in 1976, former monasteries, barracks, courthouses, and other monumental buildings have been given new life as faculties, libraries, or meeting places. During this free city tour, you'll walk with an Official Maastricht Guide past special UM locations and discover how historical heritage and academic life mutually reinforce each other in Maastricht. You'll hear the stories behind the buildings: from monastic life and military history to jurisprudence, student life, and innovative education. This way, you'll get to know Maastricht and its university from a new perspective.
A walk through the past, present, and future, right in the heart of Maastricht. For anyone who wants to get to know the city (even better).
