Programme

How do you really bring science to life? At Pint of Science: 50 Years of Science, 50 Years of Impact – Female UM Pioneers, you’ll find out for yourself, with a drink in hand and inspiring stories within easy reach. This popular three-day festival, which attracted more than 300 visitors last year, shows just how vibrant and relevant science can be in the heart of our city.

In this special UM50 edition, female pioneers take centre stage, bringing science and society closer together. Annemarie Koster, Associate Professor of Lifestyle Epidemiology, will share what science tells us about how much we really need to move – and why it matters in our daily lives. Marjolein van Vugt, Professor of Psychosocial Innovations in Dementia and Head of the Alzheimer Centre Limburg, explores a powerful question: can you live with dementia? Through their personal and accessible stories, they show how research contributes to health, wellbeing and quality of life.

After the interactive talks, it’s your turn to get involved during a short pub quiz – with a fun prize for the winner.
