AI is playing an increasingly prominent role in our work, studies and everyday lives. But who develops this technology, and whose perspectives shape it? During AI Dichtbij, organised by Maastricht University and SVO|PL, you’ll discover why greater involvement of women in AI matters and what opportunities AI can offer women. Women are the focus of this afternoon, but everyone is welcome.

You’ll meet herAI.tech, an initiative that originated on the Brightlands campus and works to increase the number of women developing, implementing and using AI. Through clear explanations and practical examples, you’ll discover why diverse perspectives are needed in AI development. You’ll also explore tools and opportunities to start using AI yourself.

We’ll begin with an informal gathering over refreshments, followed by an accessible talk with time for questions, discussion and hands-on practice. Would you like to put what you’ve learnt into practice straight away? Bring your own phone, tablet or laptop; a tablet or laptop is preferable. No experience with AI is needed.
